Angels for Sam was formed in March of 2007 when Samantha Mills was diagnosed with leukemia. Sam was 17 years old at the time and family and friends wanted to help but didn’t know what to do. Angels for Sam was formed and fundraising efforts were begun to help with medical, travel and basic living expenses while Sam completed her 2 ½ year treatment process. At the end of Sam’s treatment, Angels for Sam made a commitment to pay forward the kindness and generosity shown to Sam’s family by friends, family and complete strangers to help other families going through financial hardship due to the illness, injury or death of a loved one.
